Black Merda – The Psych Funk Of Black Merda
Personal Note: 11 slabs of rare psych/funk from the sinister guitar powerhouse group of the late 60’s/early 70’s, Black Merda. This set features previously unavailable cuts that were locked away in the vaults of Chess Records and includes a couple of tracks that the band laid down as an earlier incarnation of the group under the name “The Soul Agents”.
One of the group’s founding members & lead vocalist “VC L.Veasey” also offers a couple of solos along with tracks that were sung by the sister of Charles & Tony Hawkins…Both lead guitarists for the group. Released on vinyl only and a perfect accomplice to “Black Merda – The Folks From Mothers Mixer”. Also, If you like these albums, You cannot afford to be without “Fugi – Mary, Don’t Take Me On No Bad Trip” with Black Merda as the backing band. Holy Grail material for the head music lover.
