Dramatic themes from the martial arts underground — a set of De Wolfe Sound Library tracks, all of which were used in Kung Fu films by the legendary Shaw Brothers! The work here is different than some other martial arts music you might know from the 70s — not originally penned and recorded for such films, but filled with more than enough weird touches and exotic moments to make the fit nicely! There’s less funk here than you might expect, but that lack is more than made up for with a rich array of strange sounds — stark horn bits, spacey effects, eerie melodies, and more — all mostly short tracks used as musical cues in the films, jumbled together here in a mad pastiche of sonic delights. The package is overflowing with goodies — over 70 minutes of music, and 43 tracks in all — used in films from 1975 through 1983 — but often recorded in earlier years.
